We are home!!

What a trip! I think I can safely say for everyone on the team that God really blessed our time and taught each of us new things each day!

As we crossed the border back in to the states we were all amazed at the thought of a week trip to Mexico, with 19 people  - no serious injuries, no problems crossing the border, no car trouble... We can really see God's hand in the whole trip!

Thank you all for your prayers and everything you did to make this trip possible! Stay tuned over the next couple of days - I will be posting LOTS of pictures from the trip!

Hey, all you team members: please leave a comment discribing your highlight of the trip or something that God taught you through this past week!

We are still alive... ;)

Hi everyone!! I am sorry to have missed a couple days, we have been busy! We just got back from Ojo De Agua (the water park). We were able to bring all of the kids from the orphanage with us! This morning we went to church with the kids, the music was the hilight for everyone! Zach and Tyler gave their testimonies and the drama team did their drama, which went really well! It was a blessing to participate in worship with the Mexican people!

Last night we and all of the kids danced! They are great dancers, especially the 4 year old Heraldo! All of them are very loving and are blessed to be a part of this orphanage. The leaders are very tender with them and even though all of the kids came from difficult backgrounds, God has used Mario and Blanca and the other leaders to work in their lives.

We have continued doing a lot of painting on Thurday and Friday. We are painting the new addition to the dormitory and the bodega. Lots of great time to work on team building. We have a great team! God has used us to bring a little girl to Christ during VCS. Please continue to pray that God would use us in the lives of the kids here at the orphanage. We want them to see Christ through us and we want to be an example of who He is.

Friday, Saturday

Time is flying by! We have been busy working here at the orphanage, finishing up our VBS and hanging out with the kids. Saturday we visited a cave and went to the Market. The highlight of the day was coming home and dancing with the children! Wa-t till you see the video! Sunday we will be going to church in the am, a water park with the children in the afternoon and church again in the pm. We are already dreading saying goodbye! Than you for your prayers! Please continue to pray for us! Pray for us as we worship in a new culture. Please also pray that God would show each of the team members what it is He is teaching them! We know you are praying and cannot wait to share with you about what God has been doing here in Mexico! Mark on your calendars Wednesday the 22nd! At 7pm, we'll be sharing about our experiences with the church family! Please plan on joining us! Thanks everyone! Pastor Chris

hola de mexico!

painting party... :)

Hi everyone. If you have not heard yet, we made it safely to Sabinas Hidalgo! Besides an hour delay in DFW, there were no problems! God blessed us with a quick and easy crossing of the border! We arrived at the orphanage at about 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday and went to bed! We sleep out on the sidewalk/patio area, because it is too hot! Yesterday the high was 115 degrees and just because it is dry heat doesn't mean it isn't hot!!!

We met all the kids first thing Wednesday morning. Even though we can not speak Spanish much, we are able to communicate in other ways. The kids love to play with us and even though we can´t talk to them, they love to sit next to us or they will just come up and give us a hug. As I type several of the team members are out painting the new dormitory and the others are painting the meal building.

We had our first VBS last night, it went well... definitely a challenge to participate in leading that many kids when we can´t really understand them and they can´t understand us. I think the big hit was Pato Pato Ganzo (Duck Duck gray duck).

Please continue praying for out team. We want to be used by God to make a difference here in Mexico!

I can't seem to upload more pictures right now... I will try to post more pictures soon!!

Everyone made it through security! We are now waiting to board our plane. Everyone seems to be in good spirits. Students are starting to get over the fact we upgraded the adults to first class. Just kidding.

I'll post again in Dallas.

test post from phone

We'll be heading out in the am. This is a test to make sure I can post from my phone. I will try to update when until we get to the boarder. Once we cross, my phone will be off till we get back to the states.
We do hope to have internet access to update the blog frequently (no promises though)

Thanks for checking out the blog! See you when we get back!
